The Atatürk Dam, which provides an annual income of 1.7 billion dollars to the Turkish economy, has an annual electricity production capacity of 8.9 billion kWh. Considering that the dam has produced approximately 210 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity since it began generating power in 1992, the scale of China's mega dam project can be easily understood.
