The wreckage of the firefighting plane that fell into the Seyhan Dam Lake while intervening in the forest fire that broke out on June 19 in the Çukurova district of Adana was retrieved from underwater and pulled to the shore.
The wreckage of the firefighting plane that fell into the dam lake in Adana at a depth of 27 meters was brought to the surface with lifting balloons.
Following the incident on June 19 in the Fadıl neighborhood of the Çukurova district of Adana, where a forest fire broke out and the plane, which was taking water from the Seyhan Dam Lake, fell, and two pilots were rescued safely, work was initiated to recover the wreckage of the firefighting plane.
RECOVERED FROM A DEPTH OF 27 METERS
The Underwater Search and Rescue Team of the Adana Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Gendarmerie Commando Special Operations Command teams identified the point where the plane sank in the lake. The teams started work in the Seyhan Dam Lake in the morning hours. The plane wreckage, located at a depth of 27 meters, was brought to the surface with lifting balloons. The wreckage of the plane was then towed to the Underwater Group Directorate of the Provincial Security Directorate on the lakeshore.
