23-year-old Volkan Durmuş, who was seriously injured in a gun attack in front of a wedding hall in Gaziantep, passed away at the hospital where he was being treated during the night. It was claimed that the incident, in which one suspect was detained by the Homicide Bureau teams, was carried out as a retaliation for a murder that occurred 6 months ago. The incident took place yesterday evening in the 75th Year Neighborhood of the Şahinbey district. According to allegations, the young man named Volkan Durmuş, 23, was attacked by an armed individual named H.A. in front of a wedding hall on the street. After the incident, Durmuş was seriously injured with multiple bullets hitting his body, while the assailant H.A. quickly fled the scene.
HE COULD NOT BE SAVED AT THE HOSPITAL HE WAS TAKEN TO
Upon receiving a notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, a large number of police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The seriously injured young man was taken to Gaziantep University Medical Faculty Hospital after the initial intervention by the medical teams. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, Volkan Durmuş passed away during the night. His body was handed over to his relatives for burial after the procedures were completed at the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institution.
MURDER SUSPECT CAPTURED, SHOCKING TRUTH EMERGED
Following the incident, the teams from the Public Security Branch Directorate's Homicide Bureau conducted extensive work and captured the murder suspect H.A. The individual who was captured reportedly stated in his testimony that he committed the murder as a retaliation for the killing of a person named Mehmet Akdeniz on August 30, 2025. It was learned that the processes of the murder suspect in custody are ongoing at the police station.
