In an incident that occurred around 1:00 PM at Aydos National Park in Sancaktepe, Berat Can, who was fishing in the pond, started walking on the mud next to the water to cross to the other side of the pond. Not realizing that the mud was a swamp, Can suddenly began to sink into it. Realizing that he could not get out of the swamp on his own, Can called out to nearby citizens for help. CITIZENS CALLED THE TEAMSAt that moment, a group of women who were walking by the pond rushed to help the young man stuck in the swamp. Understanding that they could not rescue the young man on their own, the citizens reported the situation to the fire department. Fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire department extended a ladder to the young man stuck in the swamp. Holding onto the ladder, Berat Can managed to pull himself out of the swamp within about half an hour. Can, whose health condition was good, later left with his friends who arrived at the scene. "I CAME TO FISH, WE GOT CAUGHT"Describing the moments he was trapped in the swamp, Berat Can said, "I came to fish. We got caught. I was going to cross to the other side. I took 2-3 steps and got stuck. I was there for about half an hour. Fortunately, those passing by saw me. Everything happened in seconds. I was alone, but those passing by helped me. I'm fine, I have nothing wrong," he said. "WE WERE AFRAID OF DOING SOMETHING WRONG"Selin Tan, one of the citizens who rushed to help the young man trapped in the swamp, said, "We were walking with my friends. We heard cries for help. When we saw the friend, we reported the situation to the fire and police teams. He was stuck in the swamp for about half an hour. We tried to rescue him with our own efforts, but we didn't know exactly what to do. We waited for the teams because we were afraid of doing something wrong. When the teams arrived quickly, the situation was resolved," she said.
