During the AK Party's Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting on June 20, it was revealed that a warning message was sent to the members' phones, advising them not to share what was discussed, while Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan provided critical information regarding the Israel-Iran war and the process of a Terror-Free Turkey.
The events that took place during the meeting of the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) of the AK Party on June 20 leaked from the corridors days later. The statements made by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during the meeting and the simultaneous warning message sent raised curiosity in Ankara's corridors.
"DO NOT SHARE WHAT IS DISCUSSED" WARNING
During the MKYK meeting, which took place at a time when the hottest moments of war between Israel and Iran were occurring, Hakan Fidan provided striking information about both the developments in the region and the "Terror-Free Turkey" vision. Just as Fidan was discussing these critical issues, a surprise message reached the mobile phones of MKYK members. The message contained a clear warning that what was discussed should not be shared outside.
FIDAN'S SENSITIVITY CONTINUES
Hakan Fidan continues to maintain the security sensitivity recognized during his tenure as the President of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) in his role as Foreign Minister. It is unknown whether a similar warning was made in previous MKYK meetings, but it is assumed that Fidan, with habits stemming from intelligence culture, showed a reflex in this direction.
HE MADE STRIKING STATEMENTS
Although what was discussed in the meeting remains confidential, Minister Fidan later made striking statements during a live broadcast on A Haber.
Here are the notable headlines from that broadcast:
- On the night Israel attacked Iran, we received a call from U.S. Secretary of State Rubio. The Americans stated that they did not participate in this attack and requested that the Iranians not attack them since they had no role in the assault.
- On the day U.S. bombers were in the air, we discussed the possibility of an attack with Iranian Foreign Minister Arakçi. Later, the attack occurred.
- While the U.S. and Iran were hitting each other, they informed each other. The fact that Iran and the U.S. informed each other about attacks is a rare situation in the history of war.
