The cover and stubble fires that broke out at 10 different points in the Çermik, Eğil, Hazro, Kocaköy, and Kulp districts of Diyarbakır have been brought under control. In the fires, 100 hectares of area were damaged.
Fires occurred in the rural neighborhoods of Çermik, Eğil, Hazro, Kocaköy, and Kulp districts during the day. Upon notification of ground cover and stubble fires breaking out at different points, teams from the Forest Management Directorate, fire department, and gendarmerie were dispatched to the regions. With the intervention of the teams, the fires were brought under control and extinguished.
100 HECTARES OF LAND TURNED TO ASH
Officials from the Diyarbakır Forest Management Directorate stated that a total of 100 hectares of land burned in the fires, 20 hectares of which were forested areas. An investigation has been launched to determine the causes of the fires.
