A statement came from MP Mustafa Sarıgül, who has various harassment allegations against him. Sarıgül contradicted New Party Chairman Özgür Özel, who said the previous day, "We made our notification to the Supreme Court of Appeals Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today and his membership has ended; he has no connection to our party." Sarıgül said, "Tomorrow I will submit my petition to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Hopefully, when the case is concluded, I will return to our party."
MP Mustafa Sarıgül, who has been discussed for days over harassment allegations, made a statement. Speaking to journalists İsmail Dükel and Hacı Yakışıklı, Sarıgül made interesting remarks about the process of resigning from the New Party.
SARIGÜL: I WILL SUBMIT MY PETITION TO PARLIAMENT
Sarıgül said the following: "I will submit my petition to Parliament tomorrow. Hopefully, when the case concludes, I will return to our party. I will give my account before the judiciary. Why did those who claim they were sexually assaulted at leadership camps wait 10-15 years? At that time, I did not have immunity either.
I spoke with our chairman; I personally requested that my membership be suspended. I will submit it to Parliament tomorrow. After that, I will hold a large press conference."

Meanwhile, New Party Chairman Özgür Özel, in statements he made on a television program he appeared on the previous day, said that they had notified the Court of Cassation that Sarıgül's party membership had been terminated. Özel had said, "We made our notification to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation today and his membership is over; he has no ties to our party."
