University senior students Zeynep Özhan and Tuğçe Baran, along with third-year student Kamil Çolak, stated that they could not continue their studies in Poland because they could not obtain a visa. Some students studying at universities in Poland are either receiving rejections for their visa applications or are unable to get a visa appointment. Students who have paid their tuition fees cannot attend their schools despite the exams having started. Zeynep Özhan, who has been studying at the University of Lower Silesia in Wroclaw, Poland for four years and will be a senior this year, said, "I couldn't find a visa appointment. My friends who went for visas also received a lot of rejections. Even though they are in their second or third years, they couldn't get a visa. Since the exam periods have also started, I had to freeze my school." Özhan explained that the visa is renewed every year, saying, "If you apply for a residence permit, they grant you the right to stay. They give a maximum of a 1-year visa. The D-type visa is a student visa. I have been looking for an appointment since mid-July. They have bot systems that check on your behalf every minute or every 10 minutes using artificial intelligence; I applied to them as well, but I never received a response," she said. "IT'S MY LAST YEAR, WHAT HARM CAN I DO TO YOU?"Zeynep Özhan noted that schools opened on October 1 and that even exam periods have started, adding that other Turkish students in Poland are also experiencing visa issues. She mentioned that a friend applied to the economics department at Wroclaw University but received a rejection for her visa application, stating, "'We couldn't understand your reason for going to Poland, so we cannot grant you a visa,'" she said. Expressing that they have even paid their tuition fees and had to freeze their studies, Özhan said, "The situation is very bad. I can understand why first-time students are not granted visas. But I would like them not to cause such a loss to students who are already continuing their education. I have already come to your country and studied for 4 years. It's my last year; what harm can I do to you? Why are you rejecting me or why are you not granting me a visa?" she lamented. "THIS YEAR WE FROZE OUR SCHOOL; WE WILL TRY AGAIN NEXT YEAR"Zeynep Özhan's classmate Tuğçe Baran expressed that she couldn't even get a visa appointment. She stated that she started studying in a preparatory class at a university in Poland in 2021 and is now a senior this year, saying, "We still couldn't go to school this year. We had to freeze our studies. We couldn't even find an appointment. There are acquaintances who found appointments, but they are also getting rejections. We have been trying for a visa appointment for 4 months. We renewed our school registration, sent our fees, but we still cannot get a visa appointment. Honestly, it's frustrating. We have studied for three years; in the last year, we want to finish and start a job, but we can't. This year we froze our school; we will try again next year," she said. "IF OUR VISA PROBLEM IS SOLVED, I WANT TO CONTINUE TO MY SCHOOL IN THE SECOND TERM"Kamil Çolak, a third-year student studying at the same university, stated that he had to take a year off from his education in Poland due to health problems after going there to study in 2021. Çolak explained that when he wanted to re-enroll and return this year, he faced a visa problem. He mentioned that he received a rejection for his visa appointment and reacted to the fact that his passport was sent 29 days after the rejection decision was made. Stating that the schools also could not make sense of this situation, Çolak said he would try to compensate for the courses he could not take in the first term in the second term, saying, "If our visa problem is solved, I want to continue to my school in the second term," he said.
