The Isparta Bar Association has launched an investigation following reports from veterinarians and citizens regarding the amputation of limbs of numerous stray animals. After examinations by the Animal Rights Commission, a complaint was filed with the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
THEY CUT OFF THE LIMBS OF STRAY ANIMALS FOR THE PURPOSE OF WITCHCRAFT In a written statement made by the Isparta Bar Association, it was emphasized that incidents of cutting off the limbs of stray animals for the purpose of witchcraft have started to be seen again.
The statement included the following expressions: "As a result of these actions, which are believed to be carried out for the purpose of witchcraft, many animals with severed paws and tails have been identified; most of them could not survive, while the remaining ones have been left disabled. Following reports from veterinarians and our citizens, our Isparta Bar Association took action, and necessary investigations were conducted by our Animal Rights Commission, leading to a complaint being filed with the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. While our city is on the path to becoming an exemplary city with the efforts of the governor's office, municipality, and animal lovers, these incidents have deeply shaken all consciences."
DEMAND FOR "FINDING THE PERPETRATORS" The statement noted that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the police department have conducted meticulous work in capturing and punishing the perpetrators in similar cases that occurred in the past. It was stated that communication has been established with the relevant institutions as the Isparta Bar Association, and it was emphasized that the issue will be followed up to find the perpetrators and ensure they receive the punishment they deserve.
Isparta Bar President Fatih Semiz stated, "Recently, there has been an increase in incidents of cutting off the paws and tails of street cats for the purpose of witchcraft in our province. As far as we have learned, stray animals are being brutally harmed in this way to perform binding magic. Unfortunately, many of these animals could not be saved. In the recent past, our province was one of the rare cities where arrest warrants were issued for suspects in cases of animal cruelty. We receive reports about animals with severed limbs every day. It is of great importance for those who have information about those who commit such brutal acts against our stray animals to reach out to the Isparta Bar Association."
