In Ankara, 15 out of 23 suspects identified for luring men through social media and extorting money by threatening them with a weapon have been arrested.
In Ankara, an operation was conducted against suspects who were found to have invited men they met through social media to their homes, threatened them with a weapon, and taken money. A total of 23 people were caught, and 15 were arrested.
THEY SET A TRAP THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Sexual Crimes Investigation Bureau, it was determined that the suspects invited men they contacted via social media to their homes. It was established that the suspects threatened and assaulted the individuals who came to the house to take money.
20 INCIDENTS REVEALED
As a result of physical and technical surveillance conducted by the Gasp Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate, it was determined that a total of 20 incidents were carried out using this method. A large-scale operation was organized against the suspects based on the findings obtained.
23 PEOPLE DETAINED
A total of 23 suspects were caught and detained during the operations. After their procedures at the police station, 15 of the suspects were arrested by the court to which they were referred.
