A counterfeiting gang consisting of three individuals who set up a printing house in Mersin and printed 7 million 99 thousand 200 fake dollars has been dismantled. The suspects, who established a printing house to produce counterfeit dollars, distributed them to various provinces by acting as couriers, have been arrested.
The teams of the KOM Branch of the Provincial Police Department in Mersin conducted a meticulous and careful operation against the crime of counterfeiting money. Some suspects identified during the operation were placed under technical and physical surveillance. Following the surveillance, the police captured H.U., who set up a printing house and printed counterfeit dollars, Y.T., who distributed them to the market, and A.T., who acted as a courier and distributed them to other provinces.
COURIER CAUGHT WITH 132 THOUSAND COUNTERFEIT DOLLARS AT THE BUS STATION
Details of the operation have also been revealed. It was learned that the courier A.T., who was under surveillance by the police, was detained in an operation carried out at the Mersin bus station. From the courier, 132 thousand counterfeit US dollars in 100 dollar banknotes and a flash drive containing the printing templates for the counterfeit money were seized. The other two suspects were also detained at the identified addresses.
2 MILLION DOLLARS FOUND READY TO BE CIRCULATED
In the search of the printing house established by the suspect H.U. who printed counterfeit dollars, 2 million 137 thousand 200 counterfeit dollars, 4 million 800 thousand sheets of A4 paper ready for cutting and coloring, 5 money printing machines, 2 money counting machines, 1 control device, and 2 hard disks were seized. It was learned that the total amount that was attempted to be circulated was 2 million 299 thousand 200 US dollars, and with those in the printing phase, the total amount was 7 million 99 thousand 200 dollars.

The 3 suspects, whose statements were taken at the police station, were arrested by the court to which they were referred.
