Elif Nur Halisdemir, the daughter of the heroic soldier Ömer Halisdemir, who changed the course of the coup attempt on July 15 by shooting the coup general and was later martyred, has started her duty in the Special Forces Command after completing her officer training. Halisdemir joined the ranks of the Turkish Armed Forces as a "maroon beret" in the unit where her father served for many years.
STARTED DUTY WITH THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT
Elif Nur Halisdemir successfully completed the 39th Term Officer Basic Military and Officer Training Program (SUTASAK). Graduating with the rank of lieutenant in a ceremony held on August 15, 2025, Halisdemir was assigned to the Special Forces Command after her graduation. Thus, Elif Nur Halisdemir took her first step into the military profession within the unit where her father served, starting to provide service within the Turkish Armed Forces.
EMOTIONAL MOMENTS AT THE MARTYRDOM POINT
Lieutenant Elif Nur Halisdemir was also present during the visit to the monument built at the point where Ömer Halisdemir was martyred, located in the Special Forces Command campus in Ankara, by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Halisdemir's presence next to Erdoğan while he prayed in front of the monument caused emotional moments during the ceremony.
