The owner of Assan, which produces bombs for F-16 fighter jets, Emin Öner, and the General Manager Gürcan Okumuş were arrested as part of the investigation conducted on suspicion of their connections to FETÖ and military espionage. As a result of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, trustees were appointed to Assan and its 10 affiliated companies.

After the trustee decision, it was claimed that materials loaded into containers from the company's factory in Gerede district were intended to be taken to Nuhören village. After citizens noticed the situation and reported it by taking pictures with their mobile phones, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. Following the inspection conducted by the teams, the materials that were attempted to be transported were secured and taken back to the factory.
