The State Water Works 10th Regional Directorate warned citizens about possible sudden rises during water discharges at the dams in Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt, Mardin, and Şırnak.
The State Hydraulic Works (DSI) 10th Regional Directorate warned about possible water discharges from the dams located in Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt, Mardin, and Şırnak within its area of responsibility.
WARNING TO 5 CITIES AT ONCE
In a statement made by the DSI 10th Regional Directorate, it was noted that the dams constructed and put into operation in Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt, Mardin, and Şırnak, which are within their area of responsibility, are operated within the framework of the program.
The statement indicated that high flows to the dams can occur depending on the intensity of rainfall in the dam basins in the region, and therefore, necessary controlled discharge operations can be carried out.
"PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST SUDDEN WATER RISES"
The statement requested citizens to be cautious and included the following expressions: "In order to prevent loss of life and property during discharge operations, residents of settlements around riverbeds and stream banks should pay attention to the announcements made and to be made, take precautions in areas within or near the riverbed, ensure that sand and gravel quarries established in the riverbed operate in accordance with the relevant operational principles and procedures, avoid entering the riverbed during discharge periods, and be careful and cautious against sudden rises in water levels. It is strongly requested that our citizens follow the announcements of official institutions and adhere sensitively to the warnings made to prevent possible adverse situations."
