A 16-year-old boy in Aksaray, who was deceived by a scammer he met on social media and secretly took out a loan of 1.5 million lira from his father's bank accounts by believing the scammer's promise of "You will be rich," realized he had been defrauded and reported it to the police, while the scammer, who was caught in an operation, was arrested and sent to prison.
A 16-year-old boy named M.G. in Aksaray met a person named M.E.G. through social media. After chatting for a few days, he asked for money to earn through cryptocurrency.
HE TOOK A LOAN OF 1.5 MILLION FROM HIS FATHER'S ACCOUNT
The person named M.E.G., who deceived the boy by saying that the earnings were high and "You will be rich," convinced the child to take a loan from his father's account. Following the fraudster's guidance, the boy secretly accessed his father's accounts from his father's phone and took a loan of 1 million 500 thousand lira from his father's account, then sent the money to the fraudster's account as directed.
HE WENT TO THE POLICE WITHOUT INFORMING HIS FAMILY
When the boy, who expected to make a profit in a short time, could not reach the person named M.E.G., he realized he had been defrauded and went to the police to file a complaint without informing his family. Upon the child's report, the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Fraud and Pickpocketing Bureau teams, acting under the coordination of the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, initiated a large-scale investigation and inquiry based on the information received from the child.
HE DEFRAUDED 4 MORE PEOPLE
As part of the investigations, the public order teams also determined that the identified person named M.E.G. had committed 4 different fraud incidents using the same method. As a result of technical and physical surveillance, the residence where the suspect was hiding was identified.
HE WAS SENT TO PRISON
In the operation carried out by the public order teams at the address, the suspect named M.E.G. was caught and taken into custody. After his procedures at the police station, M.E.G. was referred to the judicial authorities and was arrested and sent to prison.
