Judicial control imposed on 29 suspects detained in the white meat investigation

In an operation targeting companies found to have hindered competition in the chicken meat sector across 12 provinces centered in Istanbul, 29 suspects detained were released under judicial control with a 'travel ban abroad' condition.

Under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an investigation was launched into companies operating in the chicken meat sector as part of the work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch Directorate.

OPERATION IN 12 PROVINCES: 29 DETAINED

Based on information and documents obtained from the Competition Board decisions and the Ministry of Trade, evaluations determined that some suspects directly or indirectly hindered competition in the market.

Consequently, on June 12, teams conducted simultaneous operations at identified addresses in Balıkesir, Bolu, Ankara, Uşak, Bursa, İzmir, Samsun, Kocaeli, Manisa, Gaziantep, Sakarya, and Muğla, with Istanbul as the center. 29 suspects were detained in the operations.

JUDICIAL CONTROL DECISION FOR ALL

After their statements at the police department, the 29 suspects were referred to the courthouse and were released by the court under the judicial control condition of a 'Travel ban abroad'. It was learned that the investigation and inquiry processes regarding the suspects are ongoing.
