The broadcast distribution of the matches played in the 4th week of the UEFA Champions League drew the reaction of football fans. The fact that only the Galatasaray-Stuttgart match out of the 9 matches played on the first day was broadcast on TRT 1, while the other 8 matches were left to the tabii platform, caused criticism. Football fans especially complained that the matches starting at 23:00 were not broadcast on TRT Spor.
In the fourth week of the UEFA Champions League, Galatasaray defeated Stuttgart 2-0 at home, while the broadcast schedule of the matches also became a topic of discussion. Of the 9 matches played on the first day, only the Galatasaray match was broadcast live on TRT 1, while the other matches met viewers on tabii and tabii Spor, drawing the reaction of football fans.
ONLY ONE OF 9 MATCHES WAS BROADCAST ON TRT 1
A total of 9 matches were played on the first day of the fourth week of the Champions League. While the Galatasaray-Stuttgart clash was broadcast on TRT 1 at 20:45, the Shakhtar Donetsk-Sporting CP match, which started at the same time, met viewers on tabii Spor.
The Atletico Madrid-Bayern Munich, Barcelona-Aston Villa, Villarreal-PSG, Feyenoord-Inter, Manchester United-Roma, Bodo/Glimt-Lille and LASK-Slovan Bratislava matches, which started at 23:00, were also broadcast on tabii Spor channels.
THE FAILURE TO BROADCAST ANY MATCH ON TRT SPOR DREW REACTION
In the broadcast schedule, the fact that no Champions League match was given to TRT Spor caused criticism from football fans. In particular, it drew attention that none of the 7 matches starting at 23:00 after the end of the Galatasaray match was broadcast live on TRT 1 or TRT Spor.
Football fans argued that more matches in a major organization such as the Champions League should be broadcast free of charge on television screens.
"WHY DON'T YOU BROADCAST THE NIGHT MATCHES?"
Football fans reacting to the broadcast distribution criticized in their posts on social media accounts that the matches starting especially late at night were not shown on TRT Spor.
Some football fans questioned the reason for the broadcast choice, stating that at least one of the other matches could have been broadcast on TRT 1 or TRT Spor after the Galatasaray match.
EYES ON THE BROADCAST SCHEDULE OF THE NEXT MATCHES
Following the broadcast debate during the fourth week of the Champions League, attention turned to the next matches of the organization. Football fans expect more of the matches featuring Europe's leading clubs to be broadcast live on TRT 1 or TRT Spor.
