After the ceremony at the AKM, thousands of people marched from Gezi Park in Taksim to Levent. The crowd continued their march through the streets of Osmanbey, Şişli, Mecidiyeköy, and Levent. Sırrı Süreyya Önder's funeral prayer will be held at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque.
THE FIRST CEREMONY WAS HELD AT AKM
The first ceremony for Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who lost his life due to multiple organ failure, was held at the Atatürk Cultural Center. While Önder's coffin was being brought to the AKM, a large group placed carnations on it. The thousands filling the hall showed their support with applause. Citizens chanted slogans such as "Long live the brotherhood of peoples," "Comrade Sırrı is immortal," and "Our promise to Sırrı will be peace."
HE WILL BE LAID TO REST AT ZİNCİRLİKUYU CEMETERY
After the ceremony held at the AKM, Sırrı Süreyya Önder's body will be taken to the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque. Following the funeral prayer to be held after the afternoon prayer, Sırrı Süreyya Önder's remains will be laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
