TRAFFIC ARGUMENT TURNS INTO A FIGHT
The incident occurred on the night of May 28 in the port area of the İskenderun district. An argument broke out for an unknown reason between individuals in two moving vehicles. While the cars were stopped at a red light, the driver of the vehicle driven by H.Ç. and two other people in the car got out and attacked the driver and passenger of the other vehicle.
KICKS AND PUNCHES FLY IN THE AIR
The fight quickly escalated, with the parties attacking each other with kicks and punches. The moments were recorded by people nearby. Footage also showed a woman trying to break up the fight.
POLICE ACT ON THE FOOTAGE
After the fight footage emerged, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Bureau launched an investigation. Through their work, the driver H.Ç. and passengers A.K. and K.K., who were involved in the attack, were identified.
540,000 TL FINE, LICENSE CONFISCATION, AND BAN FROM TRAFFIC
The suspects were fined a total of 540,000 TL in administrative penalties under Article 46/4 of the Highway Traffic Law, which regulates the provision "Persistently following another vehicle or getting out of a vehicle for the purpose of assault in traffic."
Additionally, driver H.Ç.'s license was temporarily confiscated for 60 days. The vehicle used in the incident was also banned from traffic and will be kept in a storage lot for 60 days.
