According to a report by the local Dire television channel, based on local officials, the accident happened around 02:00 local time on the same day when the train was heading from the border town of Dewele near Djibouti to the city of Dire Dawa. Local officials confirmed that at least 14 people died in the accident and 29 others were injured.
