U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs issued a temporary restraining order against President Donald Trump's decision to revoke Harvard University's international student enrollment rights. In a statement regarding the ruling, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson accused the university of failing to prevent antisemitic and pro-terrorist expressions on its campuses.

U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs in Boston temporarily halted President Donald Trump's decision to revoke Harvard University's international student enrollment rights.

The judiciary has put a stop to President Donald Trump's action regarding Harvard University. With her ruling, Judge Allison Burroughs temporarily halted the Trump administration's decision to block Harvard University's right to enroll international students. The decision was made as a result of a lawsuit filed by the university.

THE CANCELLATION DECISION HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

The temporary restraining order issued by the judge suspended the Department of Homeland Security's decision made yesterday, which revoked Harvard's access to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) database.

HARVARD PRESIDENT: ILLEGAL AND UNFAIR

In a written statement, Harvard President Alan Garber emphasized that the decision clearly violates the university's freedom of expression and academic independence. Garber stated, "We condemn this illegal and unfair action. This cancellation is part of the federal government's attempt to exert illegal control over our curriculum, faculty, and student community."

In a petition submitted to the court by Harvard University, it was stated that the decision made by the Trump administration threatens the future of more than 6,800 international students and that these students make significant contributions to the university.

WHITE HOUSE RESPONDS HARSHLY

In a statement regarding the decision, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson accused the university of failing to prevent antisemitic and pro-terrorist expressions on its campuses. Jackson said, "If Harvard had taken this issue seriously from the beginning, it wouldn't have to deal with this lawsuit today." She also stated that the university should strive to create a safe educational environment instead of filing lawsuits.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ARE ANXIOUS

International students studying at Harvard expressed concerns that the tension between the university and the White House could force them to return to their home countries. The university administration, while sending supportive messages to its students, stated that they are closely monitoring the process.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION HAD FROZEN FUNDS

The Trump administration is targeting not only Harvard but also similar universities, arguing that these institutions have not adequately monitored pro-Palestinian activities and have discriminated against conservative views. In this context, federal funds amounting to $2.2 billion allocated to Harvard were frozen in April, and it was announced that the university's tax-exempt status could be revoked. Following these decisions made by the administration, the university had previously also sought legal recourse.
