Ramazan Ağar, the Vice President of TÜRK-İŞ, stated that there has been no concrete wage proposal from the government in the public framework protocol negotiations for three months. Ağar said, "In this country, fixed-income earners have become unable to breathe. Every passing day is a loss for workers. Every proposal that is not put on the table is a bite taken away from our table."
Türk-İş Vice President Ramazan Ağar stated regarding the Public Collective Labor Agreements Framework Protocol, "Today is June 2, and despite three months having passed, there has still been no concrete wage offer from the government side."
The negotiations for the 2025 Public Collective Labor Agreements Framework Protocol, which covers nearly 600,000 workers in public institutions and organizations, including highways, railways, electricity generation plants, ministries, universities, and hospitals, are ongoing.
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE UNION
The negotiations, which began when TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ submitted a joint wage demand to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on February 27, saw the worker and employer sides come together on April 16 and 24, and May 16, hosted by the Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers' Union.
However, as no offer has yet been made in the negotiations, TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar held a press statement in front of the confederation.
"NO CONCRETE OFFER HAS COME FROM THE GOVERNMENT DESPITE THREE MONTHS PASSING"
Ağar pointed out that uncertainty continues in the Public Framework Protocol, stating, "We represent the hard work, labor, and livelihood of nearly 600,000 public workers. In our joint proposal submitted to the government in February as TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ, we presented extremely reasonable demands such as raising wages that have been crushed by inflation to a humane living standard, updating our social rights, and increasing the welfare of public workers. However, it is evident that today is June 2, and despite three months having passed, there has still been no concrete wage offer from the government side."
"EVERY PASSING DAY IS A LOSS FOR WORKERS"
Reminding that three months have passed since the start of the Public Framework Protocol negotiations, Ağar stated, "In the market, prices change every day. Rents, bills, and basic food items are increasing in every category. Fixed-income earners in this country have become unable to breathe. Every passing day is a loss for workers. Every offer not placed on the table is a bite missing from our table. We do not only want a raise. We want the right to labor and a life worthy of human dignity."
