Turkish Stocks Down At Friday's Open

Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index starts day with fall of nearly 200 points.

Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day at 102,453.67 points on Friday, down by 0.19%, or 195.26 points.

At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.48% at 102,648.93 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.7960 as of 9: 30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared to 6.7990 at Thursday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 7.4260 from 7.4650, and one British pound traded for 8.3140 Turkish liras, down from 8.3380 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $34.40 as of 10 a.m. local time on Friday. -
