Turkish Stocks Down At Tuesday Open

BIST 100 index sheds over 4.9 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,803.91 points on Tuesday, down 0.27%, or 4.89 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.82% to close Monday at 1,808.79 points, with a daily trading volume of 23.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.1 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 12.7820 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 12.7070 at the previous close.

One euro traded for 14.4630 Turkish lira versus 14.3210 at Monday's close, while the British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 17.0270, up from 16.9560.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $70.70 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
