Turkish Stocks Flat At Midweek Open

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index falls over 80 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index dropped 0.07% or 82.69 points on Wednesday to start the midweek at 114,281.84 points.

At Tuesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went down 0.37% to 114,364.53 points with a daily trading volume of 14.57 billion Turkish liras ($2.37 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.1450 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, up from Tuesday's closing rate of 6.1320.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.6820, versus 6.6490, and one British pound was traded for 8.0010 Turkish liras. It was 7.9780 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $54.26 as of 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday. -
