Baykar's K2 Kamikaze UAV, with a range of 2,000 kilometers, artificial intelligence-supported swarm flight, and advanced targeting capabilities, has been introduced. With this range, the platform is said to have the capacity to reach many points, including Tel Aviv, from Istanbul and Ankara, and it is expected to be a significant force multiplier in the field.
The K2 Kamikaze UAV developed by Baykar was introduced with features equipped with domestic and national technologies. The new generation platform, which has a range of approximately 2,000 kilometers, draws attention with its artificial intelligence-supported swarm flight, advanced targeting systems, and image-based navigation capability.
2,000 KILOMETER RANGE
The K2 Kamikaze UAV's range of approximately 2,000 kilometers provides a wide operational area. With this range, points approximately 1,100–1,200 kilometers from Istanbul to Tel Aviv, about 900–1,000 kilometers from Ankara to Tel Aviv, and around 500–700 kilometers from Adana or Hatay to Tel Aviv fall within its reach. The distance from Istanbul to Athens is about 560–600 kilometers, while from Ankara to Athens it is approximately 800–900 kilometers.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SUPPORTED SWARM FLIGHT
Inspired by the Bayraktar TB2, the K2 can carry a 200-kilogram warhead and can take off from short runways. Thanks to the artificial intelligence-supported swarm technology, it can operate in a coordinated manner with formations such as "Turan" and "wall." It is also planned to develop reusable versions of the platform that can return to base after releasing its munitions in later stages.
MISSION CAPABILITY IN ELECTRONIC WARFARE ENVIRONMENTS
The K2 Kamikaze UAV is designed to operate in environments where GNSS signals are absent or jammed. It offers reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision strike capabilities thanks to its visual-based navigation system and EO/IR gimbal camera. LOS and BLOS satellite data links enhance operational flexibility.
"IT WILL BE A FORCE MULTIPLIER ON THE FIELD"
Burhanettin Duran, the Communications Director of Baykar, stated in a social media announcement that the K2 will be a significant force multiplier on the field due to its long range, effective warhead, and autonomous operation capability. Duran emphasized that the policies led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan played a crucial role in this success in the defense industry.
"IT WILL CHANGE A LOT IN THE WORLD"
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır also stated in his evaluation regarding the K2 Kamikaze UAV that this step is a historic development for the Turkish defense industry. Kacır noted, "These steps will go down in Turkish history as the greatest innovative military capability construction since the conquest of Istanbul, and they have changed and will change a lot in the world."
