Two more lieutenants involved in the sword oath incident are on the brink of facing consequences.

During the graduation ceremony of the Army Academy held on August 30, the slogans of "We are soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" shouted by the lieutenants and the images of them swearing with their swords after the protocol left the ceremony area had caused a great stir.

ERDOĞAN'S REACTION WAS SEVERE

In a statement regarding the issue, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "Recently, some abusers emerged during the graduation ceremony and drew their swords. Who are you drawing these swords against? All necessary investigations are being conducted regarding this, and those few ignorant individuals there will also be cleaned up."

TWO MORE NAMES REFERRED TO DISCIPLINE

As part of the investigation initiated after the incident, Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu and Lieutenant İzzet Talip Akarsu were referred to discipline 'with a request for discharge.' In a statement regarding the issue, CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu reported that notifications were made for the referral of Lieutenant Serhat Gündar and Lieutenant Deniz Demirtaş to the High Disciplinary Board 'for the purpose of imposing a penalty of separation from the TSK' in addition to Eroğlu and Akarsu.
