In Güngören, during a fight that broke out between two groups, including children, over 'side glances', Atlas Çağlayan (17) was stabbed to death by E.Ç. (15). Following Çağlayan's death, four individuals who allegedly made provocative posts on social media and threatened the mother were taken into custody. As the investigations continued, two more suspects were detained for sending threatening messages to Çağlayan's family. The number of detainees rose to 6.
SUSPECT ARRESTED WITH THE KNIFE HE USED
The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 14, in Güngören. During a fight that broke out between two groups, including children, over 'side glances', Atlas Çağlayan was fatally stabbed. He was severely injured in the chest area by a knife described as a switchblade, which was in the possession of E.Ç. Atlas Çağlayan was taken to Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital by ambulance that arrived at the scene. Despite all interventions made here, Çağlayan could not be saved. The suspect E.Ç., who was caught by police teams after the incident, was arrested with the knife he used in the incident.

On the other hand, following Çağlayan's death, three suspects who allegedly made provocative posts on social media and one suspect who threatened mother Gülhan Çağlayan were taken into custody yesterday upon the instruction of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. After the investigations conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Cyber Crime Unit, two more individuals identified as having threatened the Çağlayan family were also detained. While the number of detainees rose to 6, it was learned that the suspects' procedures at the police station were ongoing.
