In New York City, two passenger planes belonging to Endeavor Air, a subsidiary of Delta Airlines, collided while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport. It was observed that the cockpit window and the nose of one of the aircraft sustained significant damage.
In a statement made by Delta Airlines, it was reported that two Delta planes collided while moving on the ground at LaGuardia Airport.
PLANES COLLIDED WHILE IN MOTION
According to the statement, during the incident that occurred at night, one plane returning from North Carolina collided with another plane from the same company that was moving towards the runway to fly to Virginia, causing significant damage to the wing area.
1 FLIGHT ATTENDANT INJURED
In videos shared on social media, it was seen that the cockpit window of the plane heading towards the runway for the Virginia flight was completely shattered and the nose section was also damaged. One flight attendant was lightly injured in the accident. The airline, which apologized to its passengers, announced that an investigation into the incident had been initiated.
In a statement made by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), it was emphasized that the cause of the accident was due to the pilots' failure to comply with the right of way rule and non-compliance with FAA instructions.
