It has been announced that Denizlispor, which has not competed in the Süper Lig since the 2020-21 season and has been relegated to the Regional Amateur League, has debts exceeding 625 million TL. The club will not be able to compete in the academy leagues in the new season.
Denizlispor, which has competed in the Super League for years and reached the last 16 of the UEFA Cup in the 2002-2003 season, continues to face its downfall.
THE CLUB'S DEBT IS 625 MILLION TL
Denizlispor, one of the rooted clubs of Aegean football that has dropped to the Regional Amateur League, is facing a historical debt burden. Denizlispor President Süleyman Urkay announced at a meeting held at the Denizli Journalists Association that the club's debt has exceeded 625 million TL.
Urkay stated, "One of the most important values that make Denizli, Denizli is Denizlispor. After dropping to amateur, we ran for management with a sense of ownership with a group of friends. The potential of this city is enough to cover the club's debts and bring Denizlispor back to its former days. I have no concerns," he said.
RADICAL STEP WITH STATUTE CHANGE
Important decisions concerning the future of the club were made at the statute congress held last week. According to the new regulation, all future administrations will be responsible for the debts incurred during their terms. Additionally, an annual estimated budget will be determined for each administration, and the administration that will hold the presidency will be required to deposit this budget into the club's account. President Urkay emphasized that this practice will eliminate the budget uncertainty that arises during management changes.
WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ACADEMY LEAGUES
Urkay also announced that due to insufficient squad depth, Denizlispor will not be able to participate in the academy leagues in the new season.
FROM WHERE TO WHERE
