In the message, it was stated that the hunger strike aims to protest both in solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the illegal detention occurring in international waters, and that the activists will continue the strike until they are free.
Politis stated, "The detention we are subjected to cannot be compared to what the Palestinians experience," emphasizing that the main goal of international solidarity movements should be to end what is happening in Gaza.
