ONE IRANIAN, ONE ROMANIAN CITIZEN
According to a statement from the Scottish police, a 34-year-old Iranian man and a 31-year-old Romanian woman were detained around 5:00 PM local time on Thursday near the base. The statement noted that the two suspects would appear before a judge on March 23. The British press described the two detained individuals as "suspected Iranian spies."
FASLANE NAVAL BASE
The base in question is described as the main center where all nuclear submarines of the Royal Navy of England are stationed. It is also known that the base houses four "Vanguard" class ballistic missile submarines carrying England's "Trident" nuclear missiles. Faslane Naval Base is located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Glasgow, Scotland.
ENGLAND HAD BLOCKED MISSILES AND DRONES BELONGING TO IRAN
The incident occurred while the US and Israel were continuing their attacks against Iran. Although England did not directly participate in these attacks, military elements belonging to the British army had blocked missiles and drones (UAVs) belonging to Iran in the Gulf region during the developments.
