KÜÇÜKÇEKMECE DISTRICT HEAD RESIGNED: UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE NOT RECEIVING THE SUPPORT AND FEEDBACK WE EXPECTED The first statement came from Küçükçekmece District Head Nejat Öztürk. In a written statement he made on his social media account, Öztürk announced that he had resigned from his position, stating, "I regret to express that I have unfortunately not received the support and feedback we expected regarding the structural arrangements we deemed necessary to elevate our party to the first party position in our district."
Nejat Öztürk Öztürk's full statement is as follows: "Dear comrades, esteemed residents of Küçükçekmece, I have resigned from my position as District Head, which I have held with great honor and a sense of responsibility since January 18, 2025, as of this evening. During my nine-month tenure, we worked tirelessly day and night with our organization; we strived to represent our party and our esteemed President in the best way possible by achieving many significant successes. However, I regret to state that I have unfortunately not received the support and feedback we expected regarding the structural arrangements we deemed necessary to elevate our party to the first party position in our district. This decision is not a departure; rather, it is a demonstration of my commitment to our cause and my faith in our party and leader. In the future, I will continue to walk alongside our esteemed President with the same determination and resolve as a soldier of our AK Party. Sincerely."
ANOTHER RESIGNATION CAME FROM BAĞCILAR DISTRICT HEAD Following Öztürk, Bağcılar District Head Muhammed Yavuz Gültepe also announced his resignation. Gültepe shared his decision in a written statement on his social media account, using the following expressions: "Dear comrades and valued neighbors of Bağcılar, I have resigned from my position as District Head, which I started at the 8th Ordinary Bağcılar Congress held on January 18, 2025, as of today. I express my gratitude and respect to our Provincial Head Mr. Abdullah Özdemir, who entrusted me with this honorable duty and has never withheld his support, and who has kindly accepted my resignation request today. I also thank my valuable comrades, with whom I took every step and faced every struggle together, for their sacrifices, efforts, and friendships while carrying out this honorable duty. I wish success to the new District Head and the new Management Board, who will take over the banner of struggle for our 2028 and 2029 goals, under the leadership of our President and General Chairman Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the guidance of our Provincial Head Mr. Abdullah Özdemir. I would like to express to our valuable organization and neighbors of Bağcılar that I will continue to live as a soldier of our cause for the goals of the Century of Turkey and that I will be the greatest supporter of my comrades who will take over the banner. WHO IS NEJAT ÖZTÜRK? Nejat Öztürk was elected as the AK Party Küçükçekmece District Head as a result of the congress held on January 18, 2025. Öztürk, who has been actively involved in politics in the district for many years, has held various positions in the party. He served as the Head of the District Foreign Relations Unit between 2009 and 2014, and as a Municipal Council Member between 2014 and 2019. In his business life, Öztürk has been active in accounting and administrative affairs and has also valued civil society work.
WHO IS MUHAMMED YAVUZ GÜLTEPE? Muhammed Yavuz Gültepe began his role as the AK Party Bağcılar District Head at the congress held on January 18, 2025. Born in 1992 in Van, Gültepe has lived in Bağcılar for many years. He stepped into politics in 2012 through the AK Party Youth Branch. He has held various positions in district and provincial organizations. After the 2024 local elections, he served as a Bağcılar Municipal Council Member and as a Council Member.
