Two siblings, aged 5 and 6, who fell into a water-filled pit dug for homemade construction in the Kırıkhan district of Hatay, died in the hospital after being rescued by their father. Gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
Two siblings, aged 5 and 6, lost their lives after falling into a water-filled foundation dug for a house in Hatay.
2 SIBLINGS FELL INTO WATER-FILLED FOUNDATION
The incident occurred in the Çamsarı neighborhood of Kırıkhan district. Due to heavy rainfall, the foundation dug for the house was filled with water. The 5-year-old İsmail Sert and his 6-year-old brother Ömer Sert fell into the water-filled foundation.
FATHER'S EFFORTS WERE NOT ENOUGH
Upon receiving reports from citizens who witnessed the two siblings fall into the water-filled foundation, gendarmerie, ambulance, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. The father rescued the siblings from the water-filled foundation and handed them over to the health teams. After the initial intervention by the health teams, the siblings were taken to Kırıkhan State Hospital. Despite the interventions at the hospital, İsmail and Ömer lost their lives.
The gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
