In the İnegöl district of Bursa, the driver Selahattin Yiği, who was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.44 promille, was taken into custody after treatment for injuries sustained in an accident where two young girls lost their lives when their car crashed into a tree. It was reported that the driver stated in his testimony, "The roads were wet, the vehicle skidded, and the accident happened. It occurred beyond my control." He has been arrested.
In Bursa, the driver Selahattin Yiğit (28), who was injured in the accident where the car crashed into a tree, resulting in the deaths of Sena Arslan (24) and Şilan Kızılveren (23), has been arrested.
The accident occurred on January 20 at around 01:30 on the rural road of Ortaköy neighborhood. While heading towards İnegöl, Selahattin Yiğit lost control of the car with the license plate 16 FC 849, which crashed into a tree by the roadside. Upon notification, health, police, and fire rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined by the health teams that Sena Arslan and Şilan Kızılveren in the car had lost their lives. In the accident, the driver Selahattin Yiğit and Onur C. (25) were injured.
ACCIDENT ON THE WAY HOME
While the injured were taken to İnegöl State Hospital by ambulances, it was determined that the driver Yiğit had a blood alcohol level of 1.44 promille. It was learned that four friends had gone out to have fun and the accident occurred on the way back home.
It was learned that Kızılveren, who was a third-year student at Ankara University State Conservatory and had come to visit her family for the holiday, was buried in İnegöl.
"THE ACCIDENT WAS BEYOND MY CONTROL"
After completing his treatment, Selahattin Yiğit was taken into custody. In his statement at the police station, it was learned that Yiğit said, "We were returning after hanging out that evening. The roads were wet, the vehicle skidded, and the accident happened. It occurred beyond my control." Yiğit was arrested by the court he was brought to at the courthouse.
