Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan argued that the European Union is pursuing identity politics against Turkey, stating that in the future, European countries will have to beg Turkey to "please come" for its EU membership.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, in an interview with Sky News Arabia, commented on developments in the Middle East as well as Turkey's European Union (EU) membership process. Fidan harshly criticized the EU's approach towards Turkey.

"THE EU IS ENGAGING IN IDENTITY POLITICS AGAINST TURKEY"

Fidan argued that the European Union's stance towards Turkey is not political but identity-based, stating that as long as this approach continues, Turkey's EU membership seems unlikely. Fidan mentioned that Turkey is excluded for being seen as belonging to a different religion and civilization.

"IF TURKEY WERE IN THE EU, BREXIT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED"

Fidan stated that if Turkey were a member of the EU, the Union would not be facing today's crises, saying, "If Turkey had been a member of the European Union, Brexit would not have happened, the UK would not have left, and the EU would have been a much more resilient structure."

"WHEN THAT DAY COMES, WE WILL DECIDE"

Making a striking assessment about the future, Fidan argued that Europe will need Turkey in the coming period, stating, "The day will come when Europe will beg, 'Please come.' Let's see what decision we will make on that day."

THE WORLD'S NEED IS COEXISTENCE

At the end of his speech, Minister Fidan addressed global issues, stating that the solution to humanity's fundamental problems is not exclusionary policies but inclusivity. According to Fidan, the world's main need is for different civilizations to come together under a single roof and to be able to live together.
