According to a report by CNN International, a U.S.-based news channel, U.S. intelligence has stated that Iran is not actively pursuing the development of nuclear weapons as Israel has claimed. It noted that Iran would need three years to produce such a weapon and to target a chosen location with it.
In a report by CNN International, based in the USA and citing four individuals from US intelligence, the statements made by the Israeli government regarding "Iran being close to producing nuclear weapons" have been refuted.
"IRAN IS NOT ATTEMPTING TO PRODUCE NUCLEAR WEAPONS"
The report states that according to US intelligence assessments, Iran is not actively attempting to produce nuclear weapons and that it would need three years to be able to target any desired point with such a weapon.
ISRAEL ATTACKED BUT COULD NOT CAUSE DAMAGE
US intelligence officials expressed that in the attacks carried out by Israel over the past week, they may have only pushed Iran's nuclear program back by "a few months."
The report indicated that Israel caused significant damage to the facility in Natanz, where the centrifuges necessary for uranium enrichment are located, while there was no serious damage to the underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordow Nuclear Facility.
"EITHER A US MILITARY ATTACK OR AN AGREEMENT"
The report also included the views of defense experts, emphasizing that Israel does not have the capability to damage Fordow without the special weapons and air support from the US. CNN analyst Brett McGurk, who served as a senior diplomat in the Middle East during the Trump and Biden administrations, stated, "Israel can focus on these nuclear facilities and make them inoperable. However, if you really want to eliminate the facilities, it will either be through a US military attack or an agreement."
TRUMP'S INTELLIGENCE DIRECTOR HAD ALSO CONFIRMED
In a statement made last March, Trump's Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, expressed that the assessment of US intelligence that "Iran is not producing nuclear weapons and that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Ayatollah Khamenei has not restarted the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003" remains unchanged.
