Describing Musk as "one of the greatest business leaders and innovators the world has produced," Trump said, "He stepped up to offer his tremendous talents in service to our country, and we appreciate that. I want to say that Elon has tirelessly worked to lead the most comprehensive and results-oriented government reform program in generations."
"ELON IS NOT REALLY LEAVING"
Trump expressed that Musk has brought a "tremendous" change to the old way of doing business in Washington with DOGE.
Trump explained that DOGE, under Musk's guidance, has helped detect corruption, reduce waste, and modernize broken and outdated systems, stating, "We are determined to make DOGE cuts permanent and stop much more waste in the coming months."
Trump said, "Elon is not really leaving. He will come and go. I think this is his baby, and he will do many things. There is no equivalent to Elon’s service to America in modern history."

Billionaire businessman Elon Musk also stated that his term as a special government employee needed to come to an end, as it was a limited-time role from the beginning. Musk said, "This is not the end of DOGE, but actually the beginning."
Musk noted that the DOGE team would grow stronger over time and that its impact would increase, describing it as a "way of life." He expressed confidence that there would be trillion-dollar savings over time.
Musk stated that he would continue to be a "friend and advisor" to President Trump, saying he would keep offering advice as long as Trump wanted.
