22-year-old university student Hamza Duras, who had been missing for 35 days in Karabük, was found dead hanging from a tree in a forested area in the Safranbolu district. Upon the report of a shepherd engaged in livestock farming, Duras's body was sent to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
Sad news came about university student Hamza Duras, who had been unreachable for 35 days in Karabük. The body of the 22-year-old young man, found hanging from a tree in a forested area in Safranbolu district, was sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
A large-scale search operation was launched upon the application of the family, who had not heard from 22-year-old Hamza Duras, a student at Karabük University, for a long time.
Search and rescue teams from AFAD, gendarmerie, non-governmental organizations, and numerous volunteers conducted searches in the area for approximately 18 days. However, when no trace was found, the efforts were ended last Friday.
FOUND BY A SHEPHERD
A shepherd engaged in livestock farming in Safranbolu district noticed a strong odor coming from the forested area while grazing his animals. Approaching the smell, the shepherd saw a person hanging from a tree and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, AFAD, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
IDENTITY CONFIRMED
After a medical check confirmed the person had died, identification efforts revealed that the individual was Hamza Duras, a Karabük University student who had been missing for 35 days.
Following the work of the public prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams, Duras's body was sent to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
