THE STATUS OF THE FACILITY IS BEING MONITORED

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that they are closely monitoring the situation, drawing attention to the potential risk of a radiation leak at the facility.

THE US HAD PREVIOUSLY HIT THE SAME FACILITY

US President Donald Trump announced on June 22, 2025, that a military operation targeting Iran's nuclear infrastructure had been carried out.

It was reported that B-2 Spirit bombers, which took off from Missouri, conducted an attack on the Natanz and Fordo Nuclear Facilities with bunker-busting munitions after an 18-hour flight. According to US sources, approximately 14 tons of GBU-57 (MOP) bombs were used in this operation.

Simultaneously, about 30 Tomahawk missiles launched from submarines in the region targeted Natanz, surface facilities in Isfahan, energy transmission lines, and command control centers. Reports prepared after the operation indicated that heavy damage occurred in the underground main centrifuge halls, but no radiation leak was detected.

THE FACILITY HAD BEEN STRENGTHENED

Finally, the Science and International Security Institute (ISIS) shared a report with high-resolution satellite images dated February 10, showing the tunnel complex in the Kazma Mountains near Tehran, where the Natanz Nuclear Facility is located. The published report documented ongoing efforts to enhance defense and fortification capacity at the two main tunnel entrances leading into the depths of the facility. Satellite images revealing the activity in the region showed that numerous heavy machinery, such as excavators, dump trucks, concrete mixers, and cranes, were actively conducting operations throughout the facility.
