The US and Israel, which launched a comprehensive attack on Iran, did not receive the public support they expected in the country. The Iranian people, who ignored Netanyahu's call to "hit the streets," will hold a large-scale demonstration this evening in support of the current administration.
In countries where they have previously intervened militarily, the US and Israel, by inciting the public internally, have managed to get what they wanted; however, despite being three days behind in the war, they did not receive the expected public support in Iran.
555 PEOPLE HAVE DIED
The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 555 people have lost their lives in the bombings targeting the country. It was reported that many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also lost their lives in the attacks.
THE PEOPLE OF IRAN HAVE BEEN INVITED TO THE SQUARES
After the attacks, Iranian officials invited citizens to the main squares of cities across the country and to the Islamic Revolution Square in Tehran. It was announced that the programs would start at 8:00 PM. The statement included, "We call upon the noble and martyr-loving people of Iran to a great gathering in the main squares of cities across the country and in the Islamic Revolution Square in Tehran." It was reported that the events would be held simultaneously across the country, with the program in Tehran being conducted with the participation of religious delegations.
MESSAGE: BOTH SUPPORT AND INTIMIDATION
The call is considered to aim to show support for the current administration to the international community on one hand, and to send a strong message against possible internal turmoil attempts on the other.
NETANYAHU'S CALL TO "HIT THE STREETS"
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people in a video message he released. Netanyahu stated, "We will create the necessary conditions for the brave people of Iran to break the chains of oppression. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. The time has come for you to hit the streets with millions of people to overthrow the regime."
