More sad news has arrived regarding the missing passengers from the ship that capsized shortly after leaving Girne Port in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). At a press conference held in the TRNC, Vice President Yılmaz said, 'The body of one more missing passenger from the ship has been recovered.'

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced that the body of one more of the 19 missing people from the disaster in Kyrenia has been found.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz began his contacts in the TRNC, where he came to offer condolences following the disaster off the coast of Kyrenia. Yılmaz and his accompanying delegation were received by TRNC President Tufan Erhürman. During the meeting, Cevdet Yılmaz conveyed his condolences to President Erhürman and to the Turkish Cypriot people.

SHIP DISASTER IN KYRENIA

The high-speed passenger ferry named "Filo Jet," operating between Kyrenia Port in the TRNC and Taşucu Port in Mersin, began taking on water from its bow shortly after departing from Kyrenia around noon on Sunday.

239 people were rescued from the ship, which capsized while trying to return to Kyrenia Port, bodies of 9 people were recovered, and a search operation was launched for the 19 missing people.

It was reported that the wreckage of the sunken ship was found at a depth of 550 meters in the sea off Kyrenia. Nine people were arrested in connection with the incident.
