A reaction to the attack on the Turkish flag by supporters of a terrorist organization at the Syrian border also came from Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Yılmaz stated that the despicable attack would not harm the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey, saying, "The despicable attack on our glorious flag cannot harm our goal of a Terror-Free Turkey."
After the operations of the Syrian army, the DEM Party held its Parliamentary Group Meeting in Nusaybin following the ceasefire agreement reached between the Damascus administration and the terrorist organization YPG/SDG.

After the meeting, a group wanting to protest the Syrian army's operations against the YPG terrorist organization marched towards the border. The group, wanting to cross to the other side of the border, targeted the Turkish flag and took it down from the pole.

Reactions to the ugly attack on our flag grew like an avalanche. Many politicians expressed their reactions to the treacherous attack; a reaction also came from Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
"I CONDEMN THE LOW ATTACK"
In a statement made on his social media account, he said, "I condemn the low attack on our glorious flag by the supporters of the terrorist organization YPG on the Syrian side of the Nusaybin–Qamishli border line."
"A TERROR-FREE TURKEY WILL NOT BE HARMED BY OUR GOAL"
Yılmaz also stated: "We will never allow this vile initiative, which aims to undermine our unity, our togetherness, and the peace of our nation, to cast a shadow on our brotherhood and to harm our goal of a terror-free Turkey and a terror-free region.
Our state is on the field with all its institutions. Our esteemed nation will stand firm against all kinds of sedition, provocation, and divisive attempts with its common sense, and our brotherhood will continue to be our strongest bond.
A comprehensive investigation has been launched regarding the perpetrators of the incident, and those who planned and executed this vileness will definitely be held accountable before the law; the attack on our flag will not go unpunished in any way."
