The families victimized by the Newborn Gang, which has become a hot topic in Turkey, are coming forward one by one. A family that fell into the hands of the baby-killing gang shared their horrifying experiences during a television program.
Scandals related to the 'Newborn gang', which was learned to have been investigated on May 21, 2023, under the coordination of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office upon the application to CIMER and the notification of the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate, seem to be endless. It is known that 12 babies have lost their lives due to the gang that terrorized families giving birth through the hospitals they collaborated with and the newborns just opening their eyes to life. In the investigation, where 22 people have been arrested, some gang members confessed to benefit from effective remorse. One of the suspects, who stated that a baby's condition was not bad when it arrived at the hospital but started to deteriorate a few days later, said, "We put the baby, who was turning purple day by day due to a heart anomaly, to sleep with heavy narcotic drugs," revealing what the baby-killer gang could do for money. On the other hand, victim families due to the 'Newborn gang' have started to come forward one by one.
"I CAN NEVER FORGET THAT BLACK DAY"
A victim family participating in a program on Halk TV recounted the horrific days they experienced. Orhan Dağlı and Sevil Dağlı stated that they could never forget that black day, saying, "I gave birth on a Saturday night. It was premature. I gave birth to a healthy live baby boy with a good weight. My child only needed intensive care. My specialist who delivered the baby said he would stay in intensive care for two weeks and that I should wait for a check-up when he comes out. He said the child was born healthy."
"THEY TOOK MY BABY WRAPPED IN A SHEET"
Dağlı expressed that they called the doctor that night, saying, "We couldn't find a doctor. They took our child wrapped in a sheet to intensive care instead of taking a 30-week-old child in an incubator. Damage occurred because they did not perform the necessary intervention. There was no pediatrician in the hospital that night. We are sure. We could not get any information about our child in any way. We absolutely could not get any information."
"THE CHILD WILL DIE WITHIN TWO WEEKS"
The couple continued their statements, saying that a nurse told them, "What did you expect, the child was born badly." "My wife went down to intensive care. The nurse said, 'What did you expect, the child was born badly.' I can never forget it. Mr. Fırat came. Doctor Fırat Sarı looked into my eyes and said that my child's condition was not good, that he would die within two weeks, even if he lived, he would be your child here for 6-7 months. He said, 'You are going home now, rest, forget your pregnancy.' I couldn't respond to the doctor at all. We took our child from there after 35 days. They told us that our child had a brain hemorrhage and would be disabled."
WHEN WE TOOK OUR CHILD TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL, HE GOT BETTER
"When we took him from that hospital to another hospital, that evening they told us that our child started to get better. They said, 'Today he took his formula.' I said with tears in my eyes, 'What did you do to my child?' There is a child who has been fed with medicine for 35 days. They conveyed it to us like this. We took him to another hospital. That evening around 10:00 PM, they said, 'Your child is taking the formula.'
