In Bursa, Ahmet Y. hit his wife on the head with a bottle and then opened fire with a gun. The injured woman and her 10-year-old daughter sought refuge in a mosque, and those moments were captured by security cameras. The incident occurred around 07:00 in a site located on Divan Street in the Ataevler neighborhood of the Nilüfer district, in an apartment on the second floor of a four-story building. A dispute broke out between Ahmet Y. and his wife, Sevinç Y. As the argument escalated, Ahmet Y. injured and assaulted his wife by hitting her on the head with a bottle. Ahmet Y. then opened fire with a gun at Sevinç Y., who was trying to leave the house with their 10-year-old daughter.

THE FIRST INTERVENTION WAS BY THE CONGREGATION

While the bullets did not hit Sevinç Y. and her daughter, they sought refuge in the Edebali Mosque near the site; those moments were captured by the mosque's security camera. While police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notification, the congregation gathered for the morning prayer made the first intervention for Sevinç Y. and her daughter, who were taken to Bursa Uludağ University Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Sevinç Y. was in good condition, while Ahmet Y. was caught at his home.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
