The lighting poles on the Kayseri Northern Ring Road have become an overnight roosting spot for hundreds of storks feeding in the wetlands. The impressive scene that emerges at sunset offers a visual feast for drivers using the ring road.

The lighting poles on the Northern Ring Road have become one of the frequent stops for storks this year, as in previous years. Feeding in wetlands and surrounding natural habitats, the storks turn the poles into a natural resting area around sunset.

The Northern Ring Road, used by drivers traveling towards Malatya, Sivas, and Ankara, is drawing attention these days with images of hundreds of storks.

Many storks nesting in various parts of the city and feeding in wetlands and different habitats during the day land on the lighting poles on the ring road towards the evening hours.

"IT BECOMES LIKE A NATURAL PARK"

Stating that the storks seen on lighting poles and billboards add a special beauty to the ring road, Karataş noted:

"Due to our work, we use this road. Storks create very beautiful scenes here. They see the lighting poles and billboards on the road as their nests. Our enjoyment while traveling on this road increases. It feels like a natural park. Beautiful photos come out. Sometimes I also pull over to take photos. Those traveling on this road must have come across this. There are over 100 poles along the route, and perhaps all of them have storks."

Storks in flight

Stating that storks sometimes take flight in groups, Karataş said, "They fly against the sunset, and their silhouettes are reflected. We also enjoy it."
