The UK Met Office has reported that El Nino in the Pacific could be one of the strongest events and could lead to temperature records in 2027. Experts predict that with effects such as droughts and floods, the economic cost will be high.
The UK Met Office has warned that the El Nino event developing in the Pacific Ocean is likely to be one of the "strongest" on record.
According to the Met Office's statement, the strong El Nino continues to increase global temperatures.
WILL BE THE STRONGEST
While it is predicted that the El Nino event currently developing in the Pacific Ocean will be "one of the strongest" on record, it is estimated that El Nino, expected to be the most extensive since the 19th century, will cause temperatures to reach record levels in 2027.
"WE HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A SIGNAL"
Adam Scaife, Head of the Met Office's Long-Range Forecasting Department, stated in his assessment on the subject that El Nino is an "unprecedented event," using the expression, "I have never seen such an intense El Nino signal in our forecasts."
It is predicted that El Nino, which occurs when surface waters in the Pacific Ocean warm above normal and is expected to be quite strong this year, will have a high cost to the world economy due to the drought, floods, and extreme temperatures it may cause.
