Wedding in Paris, war in Iran! Is a new chapter opening in the Middle East?

Iman Pahlavi, the grandson of Iran's last Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, married American Jewish businessman Brad Sherman in a grand wedding in Paris. The ceremony was also attended by members of the Iranian royal family. The timing of the wedding and the attack was interpreted by some analysts as a symbolic message.

31-year-old Iman Pehlevi, who works at American Express, had previously married her boyfriend Brad Sherman in an official ceremony in New York. The couple celebrated their marriage with a wedding ceremony held in Paris, the capital of France, on June 8. Members of Iran's exiled royal family and international guests attended the wedding.

"IF 1979 HAD NEVER HAPPENED..."

After the wedding, many messages were shared on social media. Iranian Jewish blogger Nioh Berg used the following striking expressions on X (formerly Twitter): Congratulations from the entire Iranian nation for the wedding day of Princess Iman Pehlevi and Brad Sherman! We hope to soon see our Royal Family together with the people in Iran. If 1979 had never happened, this wedding would have been a state ceremony."

ISRAEL ATTACKED IRAN JUST 4 DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING

Only four days after Iman Pehlevi's wedding, Israel launched a major missile attack on Iran. The attack, which targeted significant sites such as Tehran and Natanz, was claimed to have been carried out with indirect support from the U.S. This situation brought new interpretations regarding the Pehlevi family's Western ties and the Israel-Iran tension. The timing of the wedding and the attack was seen by some analysts as a symbolic message.

A NEW PAGE IN THE MIDDLE EAST?

Experts believe that these developments could have consequences not only individually but also regionally. Royalists opposing the current regime in Iran are bringing the Pehlevi family back into the spotlight as a symbolic figure, while steps taken within the U.S.-Israel axis could reshape the power balances in the Middle East.

NETANYAHU'S WORDS ARE ALSO SIGNIFICANT

Netanyahu stated that the attacks were not aimed at the Iranian people but at the regime. In his statement, Netanyahu said, "We are in the midst of one of the largest military operations in history, Operation Rising Lion, against the Islamic regime that has oppressed you for nearly 50 years and threatens to destroy our country, the State of Israel. The purpose of Israel's operation is to prevent the Islamic regime's nuclear and ballistic missile threat against us. As we achieve our goal, we are also paving the way for your freedom."

Here are some snapshots from that wedding;
