After foul odors emanated from the apartment of retired Prof. Dr. Şerife D. (72), who lives alone in an apartment in a complex on Aşiyan Street, Yunus Emre Neighborhood, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
SHE TURNED HER LIVING SPACE INTO A "GARBAGE HOUSE"
Upon the report, teams arriving at the apartment encountered piles of garbage and waste materials inside.
Şerife D., who resides in the apartment and is claimed to have psychological issues, was taken by health teams to the Vefa Psychiatry Center at Kütahya Evliya Çelebi Training and Research Hospital.
CLEANING WITH A 10-PERSON TEAM WILL TAKE TWO DAYS
With permission obtained from the prosecutor's office, teams from the Kütahya Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate arrived at the address and began cleaning operations with approximately 10 personnel in the two apartments filled with garbage and waste materials.
Osman Altıntaş, the muhtar of Yunus Emre Neighborhood, stated that the elderly woman's husband passed away three years ago.
Altıntaş, noting that both apartments in the building were full of garbage and waste materials, said, "Necessary permissions were obtained. Cleaning operations began under the supervision of police and municipal police. We estimate that the cleaning efforts will last at least two days."
