President Erdoğan held a meeting with the DEM Party delegation from İmralı for 1 hour and 25 minutes at Beştepe on Thursday, April 10. Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, the Deputy Group Chair of the DEM Party, shared details about what was discussed during the meeting in a statement she made at the Parliament today.
President Erdoğan met face-to-face with the DEM Party for the first time in 13 years. The meeting included AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, as well as MIT President İbrahim Kalın. The meeting lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes, and the topics discussed have also become clear.
WHAT WAS DISCUSSED IN THE MEETING
DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit stated the following in a statement made in the Parliament regarding the meeting: "Last week, there was a meeting with Mr. President and our Imralı delegation. This meeting is an important threshold that marks the beginning of a new phase, especially as Öcalan is trying to develop a historic initiative, calling for the resolution of the Kurdish issue free from violence and conflict, and strengthening the historical Turkish-Kurdish alliance."

In this meeting, the disrupted aspects of the process were addressed. It was also confirmed in this meeting that the necessary conditions for the abolition of the Imralı isolation and the realization of the works targeted by Öcalan are essential.
DATE OF THE MEETING BETWEEN THE IMRALı DELEGATION AND MINISTER TUNÇ HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
Koçyiğit from the DEM Party stated, "This week, the Imralı delegation will meet with Minister Tunç. In this meeting, there will be an exchange of views regarding legal issues." In a statement from the Ministry of Justice, it was noted that "Our Minister of Justice, Yılmaz Tunç, will meet with the DEM Party delegation on Friday at 14:00."
MINISTER GÜLER'S 'LEGITIMATE TARGET' STATEMENT
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler stated regarding the call for disarmament by terrorist leader Öcalan, "The state's stance is clear. Any structure that does not disarm will be our legitimate target. There will be no allowance for the sabotage of the process. Every initiative that is truly in favor of peace will be supported," he said.
